Hi @Sodler23 ,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Photosmart D110 printer is randomly printing without any documents in the print queue, there could be several reasons for this issue. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the problem:
Check for Print Jobs:
- Make sure there are no pending print jobs in the print queue. Open the print queue by going to "Control Panel" > "Devices and Printers," then double-click on your printer to view the print queue. If there are any jobs listed, cancel them.
Update Printer Drivers:
- Ensure that you have the latest printer drivers installed for your HP Photosmart D110. Visit the HP website and download the latest drivers for your specific printer model.
Check for Viruses and Malware:
- Run a thorough scan of your computer for viruses and malware. Malicious software could be triggering unwanted print jobs. Use a reputable antivirus or antimalware tool for this purpose.
Restart the Print Spooler:
- Open the "Run" dialog (Windows key + R), type "services.msc," and press Enter.
- Locate the "Print Spooler" service, right-click on it, and select "Restart."
Review Print Settings:
- Open the printer properties through "Control Panel" > "Devices and Printers."
- Check the printer settings to ensure that there are no print jobs set to repeat or scheduled at specific times.
Clear Print Cache:
- Navigate to the following directory: C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS
- Delete all files in this folder. This will clear the print cache.
Check for Network Issues:
- If your printer is connected to the network, ensure that there are no unauthorized users sending print jobs. Secure your wireless network with a strong password.
Disable Printer Sharing:
- If you are sharing the printer on a network, temporarily disable printer sharing to see if the issue persists.
Update Firmware:
- Check if there is a firmware update available for your printer on the HP support website. Firmware updates can address performance issues.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.-
