I've recently replaced both printheads and I've completed the steps to align and clean the printheads several times.  I'm getting a message and a printout of the failed alignment after every job I print.  It's wasting paper and the alignment is only partial, at the top of the paper.  The print quality of a job is fine, no streaks and the colors are correct.  How do I stop the printheads from going through an alignment test after every print job?

A warm welcome to HP Forums! This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips to your technical queries.
Power resetting the printer, performing a printhead cleaning and then re-aligning the printheads may resolve the issue. Let's try these steps:

1) Make sure this printer is plugged into a direct wall, not a surge protector

2) Remove all of your ink cartridges from the printer and close the door

3) Remove the power cord from the back of the printer (Do no press the power button)

4) Plug the power cord back into the printer

5) Wait for the printer to turn on completely, then install the ink cartridges.

6) On the control panel, touch the right arrow  to display the second navigation screen.

7) Touch Setup, and then touch Tools.

😎 Touch Clean Printheads.

9)  On the control panel, touch the right arrow  to display the second navigation screen.

10) Touch Setup, and then touch Tools.

11) Touch Align Printer.

Let me know how it goes!

Thanks for your easy-to-follow steps for realigning the printheads, but the same problem exisits with the printer message stating that the alignment failed.  The printing is aligned and the colors are correct and not streaked.  I think it's a faulty message. So, I'm getting a newer model HP officejet pro printer and will give away the old printer that still works except for the message on the screen and a printing of  the partial alignment after a print is done from the computer.

Since its a false error message, we might be able clear the error by performing a full reset and re-initializing the printer. The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device. I've send you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
