officejet 9010

I just bought a brand new HP all in one 9010e. (April 2025). And now I face this scan problem:

I installed the wifi connection on the printer. All well. And I connected my Windows 11m Office 365 laptop to the printer. Printing is fine.

But the scan function does not work. I already tried to update the entire software. But in HP smart, the scan function 'is currently unavailable'.  It seems that the software of HP on the laptop can not find the officejet. How is this possible? Why can I print just fine, but is HP Smart, which is as I understand the only way to make scans, unable to find the Officejet 9010e?

Dear Garp, thank you very much for your quick reply. Unfortunately, this did not work.  I started thinking that he problem probably had to do with my prior HP 9020 OfficeJet All-in-One. So what I next explored was deleting all the different bits of software of HP on my laptop. And then installing all the new software items of HP. And finally installed separately HP Smart. And now the scan function works.

I like the technical capabilities of HP's 9020 and 9010 series. However, the separate software for scanning, by way of HP Smart, is overly complicated. One simple IT solution for printing and scanning would be much better. Anyway, my problem is solved. Thank you very much for your attention.
