I want to scan multiple pages to my computer using the scan mode on my HP ENVY 7645.  When i put the pages on the document feed the machine runs the scan but does not pull the pages in.  Does the machine not scan like it copies or is there something not functioning on the machine properly?

Hi,

Thanks for using the forum,

In order to scan from Printer to Computer, you would need to install the Full feature Printer software first.

Here's the link for you to download and install teh FULL feature software:

http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-envy-7640-e-all-in-one-printer-series/6617267/mod...

Once you have installed the software,

  1. Click on the printer Icon (on your desktop) and it will bring up the HP Printer Assistant.
  2. Under the Scan menu, there is a "Manage Scan to Computer", click on that.
  3. Make sure that you "Enable" the Scan to Computer.  Also make sure the tab "Automatically start Scan to Computer when i log on to Windows" is check if you want to have this feature permanent. (an example is shown below

I have uninstalled & installed the Full-Feature software for HP Envy 7645 several times now. My previous HP printer had a printer icon like shown above where I could input my settings and easily scan and save a document to my documents folder on my computer as a PDF. I haven't been able to find any 7645 Scan Settings to enable "scan to computer." My HP 7645 is the default printer and the software detects the IP address of the printer, but won't connect to the network which is a solid green. There is no printer icon. The document scans to the computer, but the only options are "Windows Fax Scan" and "Scan" which don't offer PDF. The HP 7645 isn't an option. I installed HP Scan and Capture, HP Scan Extended, HP AiO Printer Remote, HP Support Assistant and HP Print and Scan Doctor, but nothing connects to my Envy 7645. I just checked and the 7645 folders are on the computer, but no desktop icon. I just tried re-installing the full-feature software again and the printer appears, but it won't connect to the network.

Hi @Jiieeggy1

Was the FULL feature software installed successfully?

IF you need a Scan shortcut, please watch this resource on how to get it on the desktop:

Create a scan shortcut and high resolution scans  (HP Officejet Pro 8700 AiO series and 6900 series)

Hope that helps!
