I just got a new HP Envy Inspire 7255e and have followed the steps to setup the printer. However, once I put the new Setup cartridges which came in the box into the printer, I got an error saying the cartridge could not communicate with the printer.
I have new HP 64 cartridge which I tried using, and the printer detects them, but says I must use setup cartridges to finish the setup.  HELP

To set up a cartridge in an HP printer, please follow these general steps:

  1. Ensure that your HP printer is powered on and connected to your computer or network.

  2. Open the printer cover or cartridge access door. The location of the cartridge access door may vary depending on your HP printer model.

  3. Wait for the printer carriage to move to the center of the printer or into a cartridge replacement position. The carriage is the part of the printer that holds the cartridges.

  4. Locate the cartridge that needs to be replaced. Most HP printers have separate cartridges for black and color ink.

  5. Before opening the new cartridge package, gently shake it a few times to evenly distribute the ink inside.

  6. Remove the new cartridge from its packaging. Be careful not to touch the electrical contacts or ink nozzles on the cartridge.

  7. Remove the protective tape or plastic covering from the new cartridge. This tape or covering needs to be removed before installing the cartridge.

  8. Hold the cartridge by its sides, with the contacts facing the printer, and slide it into the empty slot. Make sure it is firmly seated and properly aligned.

  9. Close the printer cover or cartridge access door.

  10. Follow any prompts or instructions that appear on your computer screen or the printer's display. Your printer may require you to align the cartridges or perform a calibration process.

  11. Once the setup is complete, you should be able to print using the newly installed cartridge.
    Regards,
    John
