F4440
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

i have a hp f4440 deskjet all in one printer. i don't have it hooked up to the pc. i use it as a stand-alone copier with only the hp60 black ink cartridge installed (i don't copy in color). i am experiencing a problem where the printer doesn't do anything when i hit the black/white copy button anymore. it used to work flawlessly. it is plugged in. now the scanning device below the glass comes across the platen about 3/4 of the way and stops without light on. the only thing that is occurring when it does this, is the attention light on the front of the control panel blinks because of the absence of the color cartridge. aside from that the printer does nothing. i have attempted to make the printer print a self test page (paper type & resize buttons) but the printer did nothing. i have attempted to print an extended self test report (power & cancel buttons) but again, the printer did nothing. i can't run hp print and scan doctor becuase it is a stand alone copier and not connected to a computer. i have searched the web for any other resolution but haven't found one. any ideas on how to get my printer to return to the land of the operating?

@sickpc, Welcome to HP Support Community!

Going through your post I see that you're unable to scan/copy on the printer. You have mentioned-"the scanning device below the glass comes across the platen about 3/4 of the way and stops without the light on", which means the scanner has failed.

Please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.

Hope this helps!
