Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

I changed my black ink cartridge and now printer won't print at all. It makes the sounds like it is printing but the paper comes out blank. The color cartridges are depleted (or almost empty) but I have it set to print only in black. I tried cleaning the print head, tried disconnecting power and restarting but neither worked. The new cartridge was in an unopened box and had a use by December 2021 date.

Are you able to copy in black?

 

Do you've another black ink to see if it works? Try a firmware update: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_1776648-1643972-16

I updated. And, no I can;t copy in black either. I tried another cartridge and that didn't help. Could this be caused by  the color cartridges being out of ink even though  I have it set for black only?

Yes, it definitely could be. Please try a new color ink and try again.
