switching on the printer by the relevant switch, on the control panel, the control panel itself does't light up. the wifi light remains off too as well as all the other icons. Please provide me with suggestion to solve this problem. I must add that opening the scanner cover to gain access to the cartridges the carriage after a while moves the correct position while the control panel remains off. Thanks for the help

I reviewed your post and I understand that there are no lights lit on the printer front panel.
Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.
Are you able to make a copy?
Are you getting any error on the printer?
Meanwhile, I recommend you follow the below steps and check if it helps.
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Remove USB cable, if present.
- Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
- Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord (This is important) and then plug back the power cord to the printer.
- Turn on the printer and wait till the warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.
If you continue facing the issue, try updating the printer firmware following the steps in the below article.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

Hi,
first of all, thanks a lot for your reply and help. I have performed what you suggested but nothing is changed:
- I cannot make copies because the control panel is completely black, the icon to be pressed to launch a copy is not visible;
- no error messages appear on the control panel, which is continuously black;
- step 1 to 5 have have not given any result, the control panel remains off and none part inside the printer moves;
- I cannot update the firmware because the wifi light on the control panel is off as well as the e-print light.
Please be aware, as I have already mentioned in my previous post, that the only way to have paper and cartridges carriage motors moving I have to lift the printer top cover to have access to the cartridges. Lowering the top cover the printer returns to the idle position but with the control panel and status lights (wifi and e-print) off.
I have also tried to launch a print from the PC but being the wifi off the printer has not been activated.
I wonder if it is possible to order a new or reconditioned mother board and if yes what kind of test I should carry out to be sure that the motherboard needs to be replaced.
Hoping to have given you all the necessary informations I am looking forward to hearing from you,
All the best
