I have tried the following steps .
Cleaned the contacts
In single mode black works fine
Ordered new cartridges from HP and replaced
I get the same error. Black works in single mode but color doesn't
Any help will be appreciated . I can try reseating the cables but not sure how.

HI, I had the same issue with my HP Envy 4500. It said to replace the black but actually it was the colour cartridge that was at fault. I'd already updated the software and run the diagnostic stuff recommended online. Then, on another forum I saw to put it into mono by removing the colour cartridge. This stopped the error message that previously wouldn't clear. In mono print mode I used the menu - tools option and cleaned the printhead and aligned it, then I replaced the colour cartridge. Worked ok then. Hope this helps, Jayne
