Please i need your help.
2 days ago i bought HP smart tank plus 555. i printed about 10 papers.
I received a message telling your ink had depleted.
so far i lost about 5% black ink
And 2 % color ink. this should not happen, it should last a long time.
Can you please tell me what is happening? and i can solve the problem
I used to have before this printer (HP envy 4502) all in one.it never let me down.
i hope to hear a reply from you very soon. i am already getting fed up. if i keep losing ink like that i will return it back and reinstall the old printer HP envy 4502.
thank you

Hi @habs2habs,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you have noticed that the ink in your HP Smart Tank Plus 555 printer is depleting more quickly than usual, there could be a few reasons for this.
- Print settings: Check the print settings on your computer or the printer itself. If you are printing at higher quality settings or using color ink unnecessarily, it can lead to faster ink depletion. Adjusting the print settings to a lower quality or using grayscale printing when color is not necessary can help conserve ink.
- Print volume: If you have been printing a larger number of documents or images recently, it's natural for the ink levels to deplete more quickly. Consider if your print volume has increased compared to previous usage.
- Ink cartridges: The ink cartridges themselves may have issues that are causing faster depletion. Make sure the cartridges are properly installed and securely seated in the printer. Also, check if any of the cartridges are leaking or have expired. If there are issues with the cartridges, consider replacing them with new ones.
- Printer maintenance: Regular maintenance can help optimize ink usage. Run a printhead cleaning cycle or nozzle check to ensure that the printhead is clean and clear. A clogged printhead can cause ink wastage.
- Faulty hardware: In rare cases, there may be an issue with the printer itself that is causing excessive ink usage.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
