@SkipDesro Welcome to HP Forums Community!
I'd like to know exactly what you mean by washable? are you referring to washing the ink stains off something else or are you washing the cartridges?
I'll need you to elaborate so I know exactly what you need to know.
let me know how that pans out,
And the answer to the above question will help me, help you!
Keep me posted, and if any of the above questionnaires helped resolve the issue,

Good luck.

@SkipDesro I appreciate the clarification, that said, here's what you need to know:
Print HP iron-on transfers with an inkjet printer and applies them to fabrics such as t-shirts and bags.
CAUTION:HP iron-on transfers for inkjet printers cannot be used with LaserJet printers. Heating elements in LaserJet printers can melt the transfer and cause damage to the printer.

There seems to be confusion I DO NOT want info on iron on.
I want to print an artist's name directly onto a piece of fabric that will be sewn onto hand painted clothes. The paints are OK to be washed.
Is the ink (printed on the name tag) ok to be washed?
I am using the standard ink cartridge available from HP for the 3700 & 5540

@SkipDesro You cannot print directly on a piece of fabric using an inkjet printer,
Iron on transfer is the only way to get the printed image transferred over to fabric.
I hope that helps!
