Hi @jimBo222 ,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with your HP ENVY Inspire 7255e printer. The error code B87C68C2 indicates a potential hardware or firmware problem. Here are troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the issue:

Restart the Printer: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for a minute, and then plug it back in. Turn the printer back on and check if the issue persists.

Check Cartridge Installation: Ensure that the black cartridge is properly installed. Remove it and reinsert it to make sure it is securely in place.

Update Firmware: Visit the official HP support website and check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer model. If updates are available, follow the instructions provided to update the firmware.

Cartridge Replacement: Even if the cartridge is reported as nearly full, there may still be an issue with it. Try replacing the black cartridge with a new one and see if the problem persists.

Reset the Printer: Perform a hard reset on the printer. Turn off the printer, disconnect the power cable, and wait for about 10 minutes. Reconnect the power cable and turn on the printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
