I bought, 10 months ago, HP OfficeJet 7612 and I have the same problem. I know it's an office device. First, I think it's JPEG compression, now I'm not quite sure (Jpeg or sharpen), maybe I've seen fringe on glass (like in camera lens) mixed with sharpening filter. The problem is: How do I send uncompressed and unsharped images to my computer from hp devices?

Thanks

@qwertydrone,

Thanks for reaching out to the HP Support Forums. I’d be glad to help with your printer issue 🙂

What is the Operating system installed on the PC? Is it Windows or Mac

Are you having same issues while making a copy from the printer?

In the meantime, let's try these steps here:

Perform a Hard reset on the printer and make sure that the printer is connected directly to the wall outlet and not to the surge protector.

With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

Remove USB cable, if present.

Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.

Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord and then plug back the power cord to the printer.

Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.

Next thing, If you're running Windows I would suggest you check the settings under HP Scan, this should have an option for sharpness.

For detailed information, please go through the support document for - HP Printers - Improving Scan Quality

Could you please respond to this post with the details, so that I can provide you with an accurate steps which should help you resolve this issue.

Eagerly waiting for your response!

I think that is a problem a program in device, I think also that cheap device and expensive have same parts. Diffrents is in programms. Accountants or programmers decided. Please make good products as before, and don't waste time of people. Change usb wire, reset printer, etc - pathetic. This is what I did first one year ago.
