I have a new HP Envy 4520 printer. I can't get the color to print. The test page prints color fine. All cartridges are good and in place. I have a Mac running OS X 10.5.9. I have looked in all the settings I see and can't find the answer. Thanks!

Hi @sfsarah,
Thanks for reaching out. Good day! 🙂 I reviewed the post about the new printer not printing in color on your MAC computer. I will be delighted to assist you with this. 🙂
Superb effort, splendid troubleshooting and commendable diagnosis of the issue before posting. Kudos to you on that score. 🙂 You are a valued HP customer and it is paramount to assist you here. I take it as a privilege to share this platform with you. 🙂
For better clarity and to assist you better I would require more information regarding this:
- Has it printed in color before?
- Did you try to make a few copies in color directly from the printer?
- Have you replaced the color cartridge and checked again?
- Is it a wireless, wired or USB connection?
For now please try to make a few copies directly from the printer. If it fails to copy, then please contact Hp phone support to get the printer replaced.
Step 1. Open link: www.hp.com/contacthp/
Step 2. Enter Product number or select to auto detect
Step 3. Scroll down to "Still need help? Complete the form to select your contact options"
Step 4. Scroll down and click: HP contact options - click on Get phone number, Case number and phone number appear.
They will be happy to assist you immediately.
If the unit is under warranty, the manufacturer’s warranty should take care of it for you.
If it copies fine, please try all the steps from this document: http://support.hp.com/gb-en/product/hp-envy-4520-all-in-one-printer-series/5447920/document/c0471007... to try and resolve the issue.

Thanks for the help. Resetting the stystem seems to have done the trick. It did scan ok in color earlier, and it printed a test page in color so I was pretty sure it wasn't the cartridges which, of course, haven't really .been used yet. Good to have this solved. Thanks.

My printer is HP Color Laser Jet CM1312nfi MFP. It always has printed in color. I think that a windows up date made the change. I already have updated my driver.
A Copy direct from the printer is in color.
What can i do to fix the problem?
