Yellow or amber light is blinking rapidly on left side top where you can open up the printer. Big E is also flashing rapidly on the display pad with a red x, is connected to the wifi. Have taken the ink cartridges out and put back in. have unplugged it as well and looked for jams. unless there is a tjny piece of paper in there I am not seeing anything.

Hi @ld697291,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The yellow or amber blinking light along with the flashing "E" and red X on the display panel typically indicates an error condition on your printer. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
1. Check for Paper Jams
- Even if you didn't find any jams initially, it's worth checking again thoroughly.
- Open all access doors and trays and carefully inspect the printer's paper path for any small pieces of paper or debris.
- Use a flashlight if necessary to ensure you don't miss anything.
2. Clear Any Obstructions
- Check for any foreign objects such as paper clips, staples, or other debris that may be obstructing the printer's mechanisms.
- Use compressed air to blow out any dust or debris that may be trapped inside the printer.
3. Restart the Printer
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for a few minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on.
- Allow the printer to go through its startup sequence and check if the error persists.
4. Check Ink Cartridges
- Ensure that all ink cartridges are properly installed and seated in their respective slots.
- Check for any empty or low ink cartridges and replace them if necessary.
5. Perform a Hard Reset
- Sometimes, a hard reset can clear temporary errors.
- Turn off the printer, disconnect the power cord, and remove any USB cables.
- Wait for about 1-2 minutes, then reconnect the power cord and turn on the printer.
- Allow the printer to go through its startup sequence and check if the error persists.
6. Update Printer Firmware
- Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer model on the HP website.
- If updates are available, follow the instructions to download and install them.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
