TLDR; need zone regionalization reset - new ink cartridges are z10 - previous ones are z20. Printer out of warranty so unable to contact customer support.

Printer: HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus

I purchased my printer while I was in the Navy in Japan. I haven't needed new ink until now, and have found out that the ink cartridge says z10 on the new ones and z20 on the old ones.

I read that I could contact HP to have them do a zone regionalization reset, but am unable to contact them directly due to the printer being out of warranty. I also tried using the serial number located on the ink cartridge, which I just purchased, and it says that is out of warranty as well.

How do I contact HP to do a zone regionalization reset if the ink I just purchased is saying it's out of warranty?

The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.

I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.

Heya thanks for such a quick reply. I was able to get through to a tech after disputing the warranty, and got a case number (which was needed to reach tech support). The call took over two hours, but after working with them I was finally able to get the codes to reset the zone to z10 (US and Canada).
