Hi @Savy868,

Welcome to HP Support Community!

We noticed that this thread hasn't had any updates in a while since your original post; while this is rare, we didn't want this post to remain unanswered, so, here's the solution to your query. We hope it helps you and everyone viewing this post 😊

 Install Required Packages

Ensure that you have the necessary packages installed on your Linux system. Open a terminal and enter the following command:

sudo apt install hplip hplip-gui cups

Download HPLIP

Download the latest version of HPLIP (HP Linux Imaging and Printing) from HP’s official website here.

Alternatively, you can update HPLIP directly via the terminal:

sudo apt update
sudo apt upgrade hplip

Run HPLIP Setup

Once HPLIP is installed, run the setup command in the terminal:

sudo hp-setup

Follow the on-screen instructions to configure your HP printer for wireless printing. Ensure your printer is powered on and connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer.

Add Printer

In the terminal, start HPLIP GUI by entering:

hp-toolbox
  • Click Add Device.
  • Choose Network/802.11 Wireless from the connection options.
  • Allow the application to search for available printers, select your HP M2070W printer, and follow the instructions to complete the wireless setup.

Configuring CUPS (Optional)

Sometimes configuring CUPS (Common Unix Printing System) directly can help manage printing services effectively.

  1. Open CUPS web interface by navigating to http://localhost:631 in your web browser.
  2. Click Adding printers and classes and select Add Printer.
  3. You should see your HP M2070W listed under Discovered Network Printers or Discovered Printers. Select it and follow on-screen steps to install the driver and setup.

Please mark this post as “Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved, and if you feel this reply was helpful, click “Yes”.
