Have NOD32 and Ransomware installed. Couldn't care less about what site to visit and what to install.

Tested not once, no virus/trojan, etc.  would pass

I just discovered today that I was having the same problem as noted below...after the last Windows 10 update, my  Samsung M2070 printer/scanner wouldn't scan and send to my computer and I was getting the same error message noted below..."I/O error while communicating with the device..."

I found the webpage below with instructions on how to rollback  to Windows 10 (1709) from the latest update which is Windows 10 (1803)  The brief instructions under the heading, "Roll Back to Windows 10 1709" worked perfectly.  I'm happily scanning again (crucial for my work.)  Hope this helps some of you with the same problem.

I have a  Xpress C480W SL-C480W/SEE. Same problem.

I have discovered a work around:

Press Scan on the printer control panel.

Insert a USB key in thze front of the printer

Then select Scan to USB.

Remove USB & insert in PC.

I get a correct PDF copy of my document.

I had the same problem and it appears that HP released a new version of the Easy Document Creator application on 08/03/18 that solves the Windows 10 RS4 compatibility issue.  A link to the new software follows:
