the samsung got a constant paper jam and looking around found the issue could be the solenoid in a difficult to reach place so dismantled the machine to replace it.  when put back together got a 1720 sensor error so replaced the belt, still the same sensor 1710 error - any ideas?

Go back and check all wiring closely. Make sure that no pins in connectors are bent so that they do not engage properly.
