Samsung CLP 415
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hi All

I have a Samsung printer CLP 415-NW.

It is showing 'Incompatible Cartridge' for all four toner cartridges

I believe the toner cartridges may be close to empty but I would expect to get a message like "toner empty" or "Toner Low"

It seems unlikely that all four cartridges should become 'low' at the same time so I suspect something more serious

I am reluctant to buy more toner if in fact low toner is not the problem (as suggested by the message)

So how do I tell if new cartridges will fix the problem or if it is something more serious?

(I have cleaned the contacts on each cartridge and tried again but it makes no difference)

Thanks for any ideas

Thanks for the reply but it is not entirely correct.

Lots of conversations with HP support suggest what you say is true but there were sufficient  comments on the web about printers showing incompatible cartridge when the were empty for me to take the risk

So I replaced the genuine (presumed empty) Samsung cartridges with some third party cartridges and everything is now working fine.

hello, the message you are getting is not because of a low toner issue, it is because it is seeing the toner cartridge as an aftermarket brand. In most cases you can just clear the message and use the copier as usual, but it may require actual Samsung brand toner.

Hope this helps, thanks.
