The scan to email function on my Samsung M4580FX printer will print a confirmation report saying "Authentication Failure". I have never used this feature on this printer/scanner, but have successfully setup the SMPT outgoing on Sync Thru web service via the ip address. When I press "Test", it says successful. I have enabled 2 step verification, and also setup an "app password" in google settings for my personal email. I enter this app password along with my email address in the SMTP login id & password location. I am using g mail, and have the SMTP Server set to "smpt.g mail.com", with 465 port for ssl. I have also enabled pop3 authentication, as it says you must before running smtp. Last note, I have already completed the most recent 2020 update available on the manufacturer website,   Update: When I remove the "enable pop3 authentication" it then gives a "quota Insufficient" error. , and said "account limited" on the printer. I found the setting was set to syncthru provider under Accounting, and should be set to "no account". That along with unchecking pop3 fixed this. For anyone having this issue, I will leave this here on the forum. Now I am successfully scan sending scans to my personal email. Yay.

Couple of notes:

you write smpt.**bleep**.com.  Might be a typo here but is supposed to be smtp.**bleep**.com. Also you may need to use 587 as port.

for other options try setup number 2 here https://support.google.com/a/answer/176600?hl=en
