Product: Office Jet 5745 E all in one
Operating System: macOS 10.15 Catalina

HP OfficeJet 5745 all-purpose printer, copier, scanner, fax will no longer scan after upgrading to Mac OS Catalina.

Mac Image Capture seems to work and is a quick, easy workaround.

Indeed,

HP Easy Start is not currently supported on Catalina and Image Capture would be the recommended workaround:
