hello Community members!
just got my new 6970 set up.
one of the selection criteria was duplex usage of ADF and scan to email.
i have questions related to these features as i am not able to find out how to do what i want
1) double sided scanning:
what is the way to use two-sided automatic document feeder mode when scanning or scanning to email (or faxing - this i have not tried actually)
2) what is the way of appending separate scan jobs before submitting it in an email or to the computer/mobile device
for example i have 3 a4 pages double sided and 3 smaller documents on the flatbed, and i would like to see them in one PDF file - how to set this up on the printer.
thanks for the how-to advises 🙂
best regards

The Scan to Email apps, is able to scan multiple pages through the ADF only. If it's placed on the Scan glass, it can only scan 1 page, there are no options to add more pages to scan.
Also, if using the ADF, it will not scan 2-sided (no options for that).
If you need to scan 2-sided, one way is to use the Software to scan and then attached the document before emailing.
Thanks.
Hope that helps!

Hi,
Thanks for using the HP Forums.
1) double sided scanning:

Please watch this resource on how to do this:

Thanks for your feedback.
Do I sum up correctly that the only way for double sided scanning or batch scanning is via the PC Software?
Mobile device eprint or scan to email does not support this feature.
Thanks

Mobile device eprint or scan to email does not support this feature.
That is partially correct. Scan to Email is able to scan a 2-sided document via the ADF as well. You need to go to the Scan to Email settings and ensure that the 2-sided Original tab is turned "On".
Note: You MUST load the document into the ADF for the 2 sided Original tab to appear in the settings!
However, HP All in One remote apps doesn't have the feature to select a 2 sided original for scan. NOt sure on eprint.
Moreover, Web Scan is also able to scan 2-sided.
For instructions on how to enable and use Webscan, please watch this example:
(note that Webscan is Universal, i.e. it is printer dependent - ot works on Mac, Windows, Linux etc so long as your printer is connected to the same network as the Computer)

You'll need to setup the Sca to Email feature.
However, you would need to install the FULL feature software first.
The following resource will help you :
http://123.hp.com/us/en/
Key in your printer model, Operating System and download & install the FULL feature software.
Once you have your FULL feature software successfully installed, watch this example on how to setup and configure Scan to Email :
Scan to Email setup and use (HP Officejet Pro 8700 series)
(applicable for your printer series as well!)
Hope that helps!

hello greentutle,
thanks for the information. i am sorry that there is no native support in the printer for scan to email....
as mentioned earlier in the case i was using the scan to email application on the 6970 which is listed in the printer apps tab.
do you know if there is any way to utilize that app for multi-page and/or double sided scanning and emailing jobs?
thank you
