  3. Click "Fix Scanning" and follow the on-screen steps.

3. Check Scanner Settings

  1. Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers.

6. Use an Alternative Scan Method

HP Smart App:

  1. Open the HP Smart App (download from Microsoft Store if needed).
  2. Click Scan and check if it works.

Windows Scan Tool:

  1. Open Start > Scan (Windows Scan App).
  2. Select your HP OfficeJet Pro 8610 and scan.

Web Scan (Embedded Web Server - EWS):

  1. Find your printer's IP Address by printing a Network Configuration Report.
    • On the printer: Setup > Reports > Network Configuration Report.
  2. Open a web browser and enter the IP Address (e.g., http://192.168.x.x).
  3. Go to Web Scan under Scan Settings and try scanning.

7. Check Firewall & Security Software

  • Temporarily disable your firewall or antivirus and try scanning.
  • If scanning works, add HP Scan to the firewall’s allowed apps list.

8. Reset Printer to Factory Defaults

  1. On the printer, go to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Restore Factory Defaults.
  2. Reconnect the printer to WiFi and reinstall drivers.
