- 8710 Won't Scan from the Flatbed (Glass)

I have used the 8710 for 18 months. I have always been able to scan from both the document feeder and the glass (flatbed). Then, suddenly, it won't let me scan from the glass. (Using SmartScan, when I click on scan, I get a message says there is no document in the feeder.) I have gone into the settings and tried all options, including selecting the flatbed as the source and also selecting type as automatic. I tried reinstalling the software yesterday, but that didn't help. Can anyone help me solve this, please?

To resolve this issue, I'd suggest you update your Mac to macOS 10.15.3. Also, m Make sure HP Easy Scan is updated to the latest version.
Let's try updating the Mac using these steps - How to update the software on your Mac
Also, update the printer's firmware. Here's a document with step by step instructions - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware
