Trying to setup a new 9120e and there is no Scan to Email option in the EWS and when you press Scan to Email on the printer itself, it goes to a blank/black screen.
Please advise what setting needs to be changed to allow this.
Thanks.

@ArmadilloRobot, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're encountering a couple of issues with your HP OfficeJet Pro 9125e printer. Let's address them step-by-step:
1. Scan to Email Option Missing in EWS:
To enable the Scan to Email option, you need to configure it through the Embedded Web Server (EWS). Here are the steps:
Access the EWS:
- Open a web browser and enter the printer's IP address in the address bar.
- Log in if prompted.
Configure Scan to Email:
- Navigate to the Scan tab.
- Select Scan to Email.
- Follow the prompts to set up the email server settings (SMTP server, port, authentication, etc.).
2. Blank/Black Screen Issue:
This issue might be related to a firmware problem. Here are some steps to troubleshoot:
Restart the Printer:
- Turn off the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the printer and the wall outlet.
- Wait for about 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back in and turn on the printer.
Update Firmware:
- Ensure your printer's firmware is up to date. You can do this through the EWS or the HP Smart app.
- From the EWS, go to Tools > Maintenance > Firmware > Check.
- If an update is available, follow the prompts to install it.
If the screen still goes blank:
- On the printer, go to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Restore > Restore Factory Defaults.
- Re-set up the printer via HP Smart afterward.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Thanks for this reply. I really appreciate it.
None of those things made a difference, but what did make the Scan to Email option show up on the menu within EWS was enabling Quick Sets. I don't know why that would make a difference or why they had to be enabled, but that's what worked.
Replying here for the next person that has this problem. 🙂
