A get a busy signal as soon as i try to fax, even before the number dials.

When I try to send a fax, I get a busy signal before the fax machine even dials.  The landline I am using works fine for my home phone when it is hooked up directly to the wall  jack.  When I tried to use a spitter on the line, my home phone immediately shows that the line is "in use" as soon as I connect the fax machine.  When I connect the machine by itself, I get the busy signal prior to dialing.  I thought perhaps an improper setting on the fax machine?

If you still have problems, then adopt these suggested solutions "Resolving Fax Problems"
If the problem persists, then I need the following information:

the following information is still missing:

1. Main connection (telephone socket): ISDN, Analog or VoIP?
2. Name of the router?
3. Where exactly is the "Analog HP Fax" connected?
4. Is the supplied telephone cable used?

This information is required.
