Hi
When I try to print or scan from the adf, I just get a blank sheet - works from the flatbed but not adf.
I'm sure I'm doing something wrong but it has never worked - also, same problem if I use the pc software to scan from adf.
Can anyone help please???
Much appreciated

Hi.
The model is hp colour laser jet MFP M283fdw
Product number 7KW75A
Using original cartridges
As I mentioned, both printer and scanner are fine when using flatbed but not when using ADF.
It seems as though when using flatbed the scanning bar moves from left to right to scan the document and when using the ADF out should move to the left but isn't moving hence all good and scans remain unscanned as the scanner isn't reading them - is not moving to the left hand window on the flatbed.
I have managed to print 2 pages of black lines using the ADF (was trying to print a document) but that was all - now I'm back to just blank pages.
Any help gratefully received.
Thank you.

Hi @Chris_T1975,
Thank you for your reply,
I understand you're experiencing issues specifically with the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) on your HP Color LaserJet MFP M283fdw printer when it comes to scanning documents. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can take to try and resolve the issue:
- Check for Obstructions: Make sure no obstructions are blocking the path of the ADF rollers or the scanning bar. Even small pieces of paper or debris can cause scanning issues.
- Clean the ADF Rollers: Dust and debris can accumulate on the rollers, affecting their ability to feed documents properly. Use a lint-free cloth lightly dampened with water to clean the rollers.
- Reset the Printer: Sometimes, a simple reset can resolve temporary glitches. Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for a few minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on again.
- Update Firmware and Drivers: Ensure that your printer's firmware and drivers are up to date. Visit the HP support website and download the latest firmware and driver updates for your printer model. Software and Drivers for HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M283fdw
- Check Scanner Settings: Make sure that the scanner settings, especially those related to the ADF, are properly configured. Check the user manual or printer settings menu for options related to ADF scanning.
- Test with Different Documents: Try scanning different types of documents to see if the issue persists across all document types or if it's specific to certain documents.

HI
Thanks for the tips but none of them has helped. Is it possible to roll back the firmware update to see whether that makes a difference?
If it is possible, could you tell me how to do it and where I can find the software?
Thanks
