Adobe Photoshop not recognising scanner

Adobe Photoshop has suddenly become unable to use the scanner function on my printer. Printing still works, and scanning works using HP's software, but when I try and use Photoshop to scan I get the following message:

"No WIA compatible devices were detected. Check that your device is plugged into the computer and the power is turned on."

Hi,
From the search bar type CMD, right-click on Command-Line and select Run as Administrator, be sure to confirm any prompt by pressing Yes.

Past the following command and press enter:

Sc config stisvc depend= rpcss/ShellHWDetection

Now restart your computer and try scanning, may you see any difference?
