The HP Scan utility provides settings for controlling the scanners ability to detect and remove blank pages.  It has a threshold setting and a setting for whether this applies to the front, back, both, or any (?) pages.  However, when accessing the scanner interface from a twain source, the interface has the threshold setting, but not the pages setting.  Instead, it uses the 'front' page setting with no ability to control it.  See below image:

Twain seem to use the setting correctly, in that any blank front pages are in fact eliminated.  However, if the  blank page is on the backside of the document (the most common), the scanner does not eliminate it.  Any reason the Twain driver does not expose this additional interface?

As a developer, I'm trying to control this behavior for our custom document imaging application.  We're trying to standardize on these scanners, but need the capability to have the scanner eliminate the blank pages.  I can control the threshold value using the ICAP_AUTODISCARDBLANKPAGES capability settings, but this doesn't do me any good if it only works on the first page.  I need to know what the values for this capability need to be in order to affect the page setting as well.  Ordinarily I can get at these values by having the application launch its user interface, but given that the interface doesn't show these settings, I'm not able to get them.  Hopefully someone in HP software development has some documentation that shows the values for this capability so that I can set it correctly for our application.
