HP Deskjet 3059A - J611n
macOS 10.14 Mojave

Hi Guys,

After I updated my MacBook Pro 15" with Retina Display to macOS 10.14 Mojave, the app HP Scan 3 for Mac is not working anymore.

My HP Deskjet 3059A - J611n, that I used to scan my drawings and my documents, is now just working with the Image Capture app from apple integrated into the OS.

Do we ever get an updated version or a fix for this one?

Please let me know something soon.

Thanks in advance.

Vincenzo Arena.

A warm welcome to HP forums! This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips to your technical queries.

Removing the existing Scanner Application and then installing HP Easy Scan may resolve the issue. Let's try these steps:

1.) Open Finder, click Applications.

2.) Delete the existing HP scanner applications by moving it to trash.

3.) Download and install HP Easy Scan from here

Instruction on how to use HP Easy Scan can be found here

Let me know how it goes!

I am also having an issue with my HP OfficeJet8600 Premium. I jus bought a new iMac with Mojave on it. I can't seem to scan but the printer does print.

I opened the application folder and found HP, but I/m not sure what to trash. Please help me.

Thank you for posting on HP Forums.

Once you open Applications, look for HP Scan application. If you see HP Scan application, move it to trash. If you don't see HP Scan application listed , then download and install HP Easy Scan from here and try to scan using HP Easy Scan. This video has instructions on how to scan using HP Easy Scan.

This solution does not work with my MF PMP277dw printer and MacBook Pro retina, OS 10.14.3. Since installing Mojave, EasyScan will scan, and show the results on screen, but will not "Send to Folder" or Save.  Deleting and re-installing EasyScan does not solve the problem.

An HP printer/scanner, HP software, this should be compatible!

Great work! The fix you shared was easy and I like the app betteer than the old one.

Certainly did NOT work for my MFP LaserJet Pro MF277dw.  For a couple of years, East Scan actually was easy, nut with Mojave (10.14.3) the app does not "send to folder." No matter how many times I move to trash and install from web.

Shame on HP for not updating the software so it works with its own printer.

EASY SCAN PROBLEM ONLY WITH 10.14.3-- "Send to Folder" WORKS WITH MOJAVE 10.14.2!

Fortunately for me, I have not upgraded my MacBook Pro Retina, as I did my iMac (Retina 2017).

And Easy Scan works, as it has been doing for years, using the MacBook Pro to communicate with my MPF M277dw.

This printer is a very nice piece of equipment, but it will be my last HP printer. (Similar problems with my previous LaseJet, and OS upgrades by Apple. Disappointing that Apple and HP cannot devote a little care and energy to us customers, in such matters.
