I am trying to use HP Easy Scan and it does not see my printer/scanner. I question if this is because after installation I receive the following prompt "An AirPrint driver assigned to your printer" ... "it is recommended that you use the HP printer driver." I attempt to 'Switch to the HP Driver', I receive the message Cannot configure the device software. I have uninstalled all HP products and reinstalled to no avail. Any ideas?

@JLGarrison, Welcome to HP Support Community!

 

When you launch the HP Easy Scan, make sure there is no attention/alert mark near the scanner name.

If there is any Click the Presets menu and select Browse Scanners, then select your printer and scan again.

 

If the issue persists, from your Applications folder or its HP subfolder delete any existing HP Scan or HP Easy Scan application, delete it by moving it to trash, then empty the trash.

Next, install the latest HP Easy Scan from here.  It will be installed within the Applications folder.

Finally, ensure your drivers are up to date by clicking the Apple icon, select About this Mac and then press Software Update.
Click Store on the top menu bar, click Reload Page, click Update All if any updated are available.

 

Try scanning.
