Hello:
I am preparing for a Tax Audit unfortuantely and am looking for the best method to scan 100s of receipts that are all different sizes. Some are full page size 8 1/2 x 11 and some are restaurant recipts.
For this HP MFP, is it possible to scan the receipts with the auto sheet feeder, or do I need to set them all up on the flatbed scanner and scan to PDF using my PC?
Any suggestions on making this less time consuming and least expensive is appreciated!
Thank you!

Hi,
You may use the top feeder to scan plain paper only, do not scan resturant recipts from the feeder as it will likely cause jams and may damage both the originals and the hardware itself...
For a such I suggest installing HP Scan extended on your PC:
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/scanners/HPScanExt/HPScanExt.msi
Select Save as JPEG, ensure the Scan type is set as Photo and the size as Automatic and set the source as Flatbed Glass.
Keep some space from one recipt to another by placing a few on the glass, then complete the san and the software will detect multiple recipts in a single scan job, that way you may scan several recipts at a time...

Shlomi
