HP OfficeJet Pro 8135e All-in-One Printer

Trying to set up our new Officejet 8135e printer.  First, while aligning the print heads during setup, the second step of scanning the alignment printout stops at 93% and says cannot finish aligning.  Secondly, whenever we scan either with the automatic feeder or the scanner glass, the page gets scanned and then it says “Scanning page 2” even though there is no page 2.  The end preview result is a page with a black vertical line through the middle of the page.  The same thing happens when copying a single sheet of paper, a vertical line down the middle.  I have used the Scan Doctor, etc…. Is this a bad printer that needs to be replaced?

If the error still remains, I believe it is a possible physical failure.

 

As it is new, see if your dealer can exchange it.

I had already tried the procedures you recommended, so I was able to call Best Buy and exchange the printer.  It was a hardware physical failure.  Thank you for your help.
