Hi
I am using HP Envy 4527 All-in-One Printer. Since two weeks ago, there have been a little black box on the right top corner when I scan (using HP EASY SCAN). I have tried to place my paper in different positions but the black box still exists. I am sure I fit the paper to the boarders of the glass. By the way, the black box wont exist if I use 'document with colour' scanning option from the software. But when I use 'general purpose' or 'photos, graphics, etc.', the black box exists. Please see photo. Thanks a lot!

A warm welcome to HP Support Community!
Most of the scan quality issues can be resolved by power resetting the print and cleaning the scanner. Power resetting the printer should re-calibrate the scanner and cleaning the scanner glass and scanner lid should remove any Fingerprints, smudges, dust, or debris on the scanner glass. Let's try these steps:
Please ensure the printer is up-to-date with its firmware. If you are unsure, you can download and install the latest firmware update from here.
1) Make sure this printer is plugged into a direct wall, not a surge protector
2) Remove all of your ink cartridges from the printer and close the door
3) Remove the power cord from the back of the printer (Do no press the power button)
4) Clean the scanner, refer to step 2 from this document.
5) Plug the power cord back into the printer
6) Wait for the printer to turn on completely, then install the ink cartridges.
Let me know how it goes!
