Hello
When I try to make a copy, I always get a narrow line/streak at the bottom of every copy (not from top to down as it's usually the case if there needs to be some cleaning done).
I have no problems with scanning and no problems with printing. I realized that the scanner thinks that the document is longer than it's actually the case. I ripped some parts from the paper at the bottom and indead: the line was no longer a straight line but I could see the parts I just ripped out.
The problem only appears if the original document is placed in the ADF.
What I tried:
- Cleaned the ADF rollers and the 2 small glases
- Tried a reset (Unplug while on, remove cartrigdes, wait 60s, plug back up)
- Made sure the printer is plugged directly in the wall outlet (only an extender cable is used)
- Installed the new firmware (Tried HP FutureSmart 4 and 5)
- Ran the scanner calibration routine
Nothing works. Any suggestions?

Another interesting point we just found out is that most of the time there is no line/streak if the documents are scanned and then the scan is printed (instead of copying the documents). I would have thought "copy" does exactly the same thing as "scan and print" combined.
So right now I are waiting for the roller replacement kit to ship and in the meantime we scan and print if we need to copy multiple pages.

Scanning and copying use slightly different algorithms and results often vary slightly. One thing to try would be to perform the scanner calibration . On the control panel of the printer go to support tools>cleaning and calibrations, then select scanner calibration and follow the instructions.

Thank you for your input. Interesting, that the algorithms differ.
Like I wrote in my first post, I already ran the calibration routine. I actually did it several times. Maintenance kit should arrive really soon and I will write an update here.

I now installed the new Document Feeder. The last step says I should check the control panel and go to: Administration, Manage supplies, Reset Supplies, New Document Feeder Kit. Unfortunately, there does not exist an "Administration" button. Also in the web interface I cannot find the mentioned menu. I read that some printers automatically recognize changed hardware but there is still a line printed at the bottom on every page I copy.
