I want to scan something but I can't get past the Ink cartridge missing or damaged error screen.

I tried all fixes I found on support pages but nothing works. At best I can get rid of some of the missing errors (when I take out and replace the cartridges) but not all of them. I need to scan some pictures but even the HP software doesn't ”see” the scanner. I've updated the drivers as well. I've tried with a different laptop, still nothing.

I rarely print anything anymore and I don't want to waste money on a full set of new cartridges just so that I can use the scanner feature. Is there anything I could do?

I reviewed your post and I understand that you want to know whether you can scan with the cartridge error.

 

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

 

I recommend you remove the cartridges from the printer and then try scanning and check if it works.

 

For the cartridge error, I recommend you follow the steps in the below article and check if it helps.
