Hello,
I get very consistent vertical lines when scanning on C4180. The lines have the same geometry for each scan. The geometry depends just on the resolution. All resolutions below 300 DPI (inclusive) create the same geometry. 600 DPI is different and 1200 DPI is also different.
I assume the scanner bulb lamp is damaged. But I would like to be sure before I order new. Here is one example:
Is it scanner lamp who produce this?
Thank you for answer.

HI @ZdenekO ,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Has anything been changed? For example, has the power connection been changed?
If yes, please follow this solution, see here > only Step 3: Reset the printer and read carefully the Note.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
Andreas

Hello Andreas,
I followed the whole procedure without success. It is still the same.
And there was no change in use before the troubles came up.
Do you thing the problem is caused by the lamp? Should I replace it? Or do you have any other idea?
Thank you
Zdeněk

Hello Zdeněk,
repeat the following:
- disable WLAN
- then with the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the printer and from the wall outlet or power strip.
- disconnect or remove all cables.
- now wait at least 24 hours
- reconnect the power cord to the printer and directly to a wall outlet
- wait until the printer has completely initialized.
Now start a COPY dirrectly with the touch screen at the printer.
What is the result?

If the problem still exists, then the scanner is definitely defective.
I think a new printer is needed. The printer is on the market since about 2006!
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
