Can I scan a document with several pages both-sided? = one PDF file with 5 pages. It seems to be impossible, as I cannot select one side or both sides. This choice is only available for copying. I can't believe that modern All-in One printers do not have both-sided scanning option!!!
Any tipp or help would be really appreciated, as I am totally lost with this device!
Thank you
Kind regards

HI @KatiLit
Printing 2 pages on an A4 sheet is dependent on the software that you're using. For example, Powerpoint can print 2,3,4 6 and 9 pages on a single sheet, i.e. that is from Powerpoint itself. Likewise, MS Word can also print multiple pages on a single sheet (up to 16 pages per sheet).
All of HP printers support Mac.

Hi,
Thanks for using the HP Support Community.
Please download the HP FULL featured software:
Download "HP OfficeJet Pro 8020 All-in-One Print and Scan Driver and Accessories" from Software -Utility and install.
After successful installation, check out this resource on how to scan 2 sided documents.
Hope that helps!

Hi,
thank you for your prompt reply. I have downloaded all available drivers and the firmware via the link you sent above. The problem is not solved.
When trying to scan from my computer via HP smart (as shown in the tutorial video for other HP products), the option to select one-sided or duplex-sided scanning is not available.
Please advise.
Kind regards

Hi,
Please download and install the HP FULL featured software and use the HP Scan (not HP Smart)
The instructions are in the previous post.
Thanks

Hi, thank you for your response. I have downloaded all possible firmware / software updates, unfortunately no success. I do not know what is meant exactly by HP Scan. The option for duplex scanning is available neither in the app (scanner section: https://share.getcloudapp.com/E0ubJOEA) nor in the touch screen menu on the printer itself. If this option is normally included into the printer configuration, maybe something is wrong with the asset we purchased? Referring to the instruction manual for HP Office Jet Pro 8022 - is there any detailed guidance concerning duplex scanning?
Thank you for your efforts to help me!
Best regards

Hi,
As explained earlier, you can scan 2 sided document with the printer, except that the 2nd side needs to be manually reloaded into the Automatic Document Feeder.
In order to do this, you need to do 2 things.
1. Install the HP FULL featured software (NOT HP Smart)
2. Use the HP SCAN (this software is part of the HP FULL featured software) to select Page Sides = 2-sided (book) to scan.
This example shows you how it's done:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=drV-FlTXJMU
The printers in the video does not scan both sides automatically but using the software, it automatically sorts the pages in order.
Please follow steps 1 and 2 and use the HP Scan software.

Hi, Thank you!
Then I have a question to the step one. In the source for downloading the HP FULL featured software https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-officejet-pro-8020-all-in-one-printer-series/242... I can download only two things, please see also the screenshot https://share.getcloudapp.com/2NuX8ggP
a) HP Smart
b) HP OfficeJet 8020/OfficeJet Pro 8020/OfficeJet Pro 8030 All-in-One Printer series firmware update (which is a firmware for the printer), but not for my PC and it is not HP Scan.
So, how can I download HPE Printer Assistant (mentioned in the tutorial video you shared) and HP Scan on my MacBook?
Thank you in advance!
Best regards

Hi,
Was wondering why the FULL featured software can't be installed until you mentioned that the it's a Mac system.
For Mac, unfortunately, the only solution is a using HP Smart.
One workaround would be to scan one side of the 2-sided document and then add pages to scan the 2nd side (reloading the 2nd side manually) and repeat until the pages in the document are scanned.
This would not be feasible if there are a stack of 2-sided pages in the document though.
Thanks.

Hi, thank you for your response. Yes, it explains a lot, but then I cannot use the full range of functionalities of this printer because of my Mac.
Are there any other HPE printers more compatible with a MacBook?
Today, I've also noticed that using HP Smart I cannot print two pages on one A4 sheet (this option is not available): https://share.getcloudapp.com/lluDAXwW
Is this also only MacBook related?
Thanks a lot for your reply!
Best regards
