Hello, I have an HP OfficeJet Pro 8028e printer and I am trying to scan photos. When I select the scan option on my printer, it only gives me the option to scan to a computer; when I open the HP Smart App, it says, "This feature is not supported by the selected printer." Can someone help? Why do I have a scanning option if my printer won't allow me to scan?

Hi @mattpatt99,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to assist you.

I see that you are facing an issue with scanning to your printer.

Are you able to make a copy on the printer standalone? (Place an original document on the scanner glass and make a copy to confirm hardware is working fine)

To understand the issue and help you, please share the details listed below:

- Is this the first time you are scanning a document / image from your printer?

- Are you scanning from the printer control panel or the HP smart app?

- When was the last time you were able to scan from printer control panel or the app?

- Were there any changes made to your printer recently?

- May I know which devices are you using to print eg: Windows PC, Mac, or Smartphone (Android or iPhone)?

Note: Do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc.

Take care and have a great day ahead!
