The HP3070A is connecting to my new Macbook Air to print, but doesn't recognise it to Scan.

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you.

 

I understand you are not able to scan from your MAC.

 

Kindly use the Apple Image Capture app or HP Easy Scan app to scan from your MAC.

Refer to this document to know how.
