OfficeJet Pro 8610

I have an all-in-one printer-scanner-fax machine of model HP OfficeJet Pro 8610. Now its printer part is completely down, but I still wish to use its scanner part. However, the problem is when it boots up and does self-test,  finding a printer "K Color Sensor Failure",  it just halts there and does not proceed whatsoever. 

 

Could I possibly let the firmware ignore the printer problem, proceed to the main screen to allow me to use the scanner?

If you are able to bypass the error and access the home screen of the printer, then yes, you will be able to make copies and scan.

Scanning and printing mechanisms are not related. 

 

If the printer is stuck at this error, then I'm afraid there is no option. I suggest you upgrade the printer. You may visit Hp Store to check the available printers.
