I've had the same M681z for 4 years. Scanning to shared folders has worked in all that time but today when I went to scan I got an error saying "The network folder path specified does not exist." I went and checked the network path and made sure that the sharing was properly enabled in Windows. I tried using my computers IP address instead of the name path. I tried setting up a different share file in the root C: directory. Nothing has worked. I have no idea why it would stop working all of a sudden. This is really frustrating.

I have experienced cases where a Windows update has applied a security update that requires new settings. Commonly the username needs to be in this format. computer name\username and not just the user name by itself. If your computer is part of a domain you would use. domain\username.
I have also found that in some cases what you think is the user name is not what windows thinks it is. This is a more common issue now that Microsoft tries to force you to use a Microsoft account to login.
If you happen to have another computer on your network, you could try accessing the file location from that computer to ensure that the location is reachable.
