@Sherry358, Hello and welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track.
If you're having trouble scanning documents using your HP Officejet 8015e printer with an iOS device, here are the steps to get you up and running:
Install the HP Smart App
- Download the HP Smart app from the App Store or HP Smart
- This app is essential for scanning and managing your printer from iOS.
Connect Your Printer
- Ensure your iPhone/iPad and HP 8015e printer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
- Open the HP Smart app and tap “Add Printer” if it’s not already listed.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.
Start Scanning
- In the HP Smart app, tap the “Scan” tile.
- Choose “Scanner” if you're scanning from the printer’s flatbed or ADF.
- Adjust scan settings (e.g., resolution, color, file type) as needed.
- Tap “Scan”, then preview and save/share the scanned document.
Troubleshooting Tips
- Make sure the printer is powered on and connected to Wi-Fi.
- Restart both your printer and iOS device.
- Ensure the HP Smart app has permission to access your local network (Settings > HP Smart > Local Network).
- If scanning still fails, try removing and re-adding the printer in the HP Smart app.
