We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

I am able to initiate a scan from the computer, but when I try to start a scan from the HP Officejet Pro 8620, I get an error msg saying "Scan Unsuccessful." The body of the msg says "the scan could not be completed due to one or more of the following issues: connection to the computer is lost, the scan application on the computer currently is in use, the OCR application is not installed on the computer. See the computer monitor for details."


Nothing appears on the computer monitor. I have downloaded and run the current version of the HP Scan Doctor, and it has not solved the problem.


The last time this happened, on 2/28/16, a CSR named Julian connected the 8620 directly to the computer using the IP address (which appears to be 66.176.163.186 ).


Everything was working fine until this suddenly happened a couple of days ago. Please help! Thank you!

Thanks for using the HP Forums.

 

We assumed that you have installed FULL feature software.

 

If you have not, this resource will be useful:

Key in your printer model, Operating System and download & install the FULL feature software.

 

How to Scan to Computer

Once you have installed the software:

Watch the following video, which will show you how to enable and use the Scan  to Computer correctly.

How to use "Scan to Computer" properly

 

Hope that helps to resolve your issue.

 

If it doesn't, you may want to consider uninstalling and reinstalling the FULL feature software.

Hi 

 

same issue, i cannot scan to computer. the HP assitant is not existing.

Scan doctor or the printer app doesnt allow to enable scan to computer.

in an older version, that was possible.
