Since updating to the new version of HP Smart, I'm unable to rotate scans by degrees in HP Smart on Mac. I go to Edit / Crop and see the degrees at the bottom, but when I try to click-drag the mouse, nothing happens.
Does anyone have an answer to this question? It's still occurring over a year later.

I finally figured it out. If I touch my trackpad with two fingers really lightly and drag left or right, it will finally rotate by degrees. I'm then able to do a similar thing with my mouse, but it's more difficult.
I would love to be able to use "the input box for degrees at the bottom. Manually type in a rotation value and press Enter to apply the rotation." That used to be my favorite way to rotate by degrees (doing it manually is tricky).
Where's the input box? I used to be able to click on the 0.0 at the bottom and it would let me type in a number; but now, when I click on the 0.0, my MacBook Pro makes a "no, you can't do that" sound.

Hi @KazuT,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It seems like the issue you're experiencing with rotating scans by degrees in HP Smart on Mac could be related to the update or a setting that’s not functioning as expected. Here are a few troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue.
Check for Software Updates: Make sure both your HP Smart app and macOS are up to date. Sometimes, compatibility issues are resolved through updates.
Restart HP Smart: Close the app completely and reopen it. Sometimes restarting the app can resolve temporary glitches.
Reset Preferences in HP Smart:
- Open HP Smart, go to the Settings menu, and look for an option to reset preferences or settings. This can help clear any corrupt preferences that might be causing the issue.
Use the Rotate Tool Manually:
- Instead of dragging the mouse to rotate, try using the input box for degrees at the bottom. Manually type in a rotation value and press Enter to apply the rotation.
Reinstall HP Smart: If the above steps don’t help, try uninstalling and then reinstalling the HP Smart app. Sometimes a fresh installation can resolve functionality issues after updates.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Awesome! Thank you for posting the solution.
Once more it has been proven that users themselves provide better support than unqualified support employees who don't even investigate an issue but try to fob off requests with standard text blocks.
