Today I did something I do very often, scan a few pages into one file. But unlike other days, when I am trying to save the file (which has 3 scanned pages), the save button is showing inactive and I can't save the file.
The scanner window is still on, I can see the 3 pages, but I can't save them as the save button is not clickable. Anyone knows a soution?
Only thing I can think of is that I installed MacOS Sierra this morning and life was suddenly great before this came up. Still not sure if it is because the new OS.
Will appreciate any help, thanks!

Hi! @HP15CstillWorks, thanks for the reply.
As sierra os was left last week. HP does not have the drivers yet.
So please wait for some time your will be communicated once the drivers are released.
In the meantime, you can use HP Easy Scan on the Mac.
Please refer this document for more information: http://hp.care/2c8ckuS
I'll watch for your reply!
Cheers! 🙂

Hi! @Dasamitabha, Welcome to HP forums,
I understand you are unable to save the scanned document on your laptop.
Please try few steps recommended below.
Download and install the HP Easy Scan app (in English) from the App Store.
If the app does not automatically open, search the Mac for the scan, then click HP Easy Scan in the list of results.
Place the document or photo printed side down on the scanner glass, then close the scanner lid.
If your printer has an automatic document feeder (ADF), you can use it to scan multiple page documents at one time. Do not load photos in the ADF to prevent damage to the photos and the printer.
In HP Easy Scan, select your printer name from the Scanner drop-down menu.
Select your scan type from the Presets menu.
To change any basic settings to the preset you selected, click Edit Settings.
Click Scan.
Click Scan Next Item to add additional pages, or click Done.
Click the thumbnail version of the scanned item in the left panel. The item displays in the right preview pane.
Click Edit to adjust colors, straighten the scan, or crop the size.
To save your scans to a folder on the Mac, click Send in the bottom right corner of the window, then click Folder.
In the window that displays, click the Where menu to browse to the folder you want to save the file to, then click Save.
Let me know if this works!
Have a great day! 🙂

Thanks Chetan.
Problem is I already have HP Easy Scan installed and all the process you have mentioned is something which I do regularly. It is not the first time I am scanning a document on this printer.
However, the problem happened yesterday and never before that.
Anyway, I assume you are basically telling me to uninstall and reinstall the HP Easy Scan app. Maybe I'll give it a try that way and see.
Let me know if there is another solution apart from the uninstall/reinstall way.
Appreciate the prompt response.
regards,
Amitabha

Please uninstall HP printer driver software from your laptop.
By using this link: http://hp.care/2cKwLyC
Then Install Mac Printer Driver Using Apple Software Update.
Please find the link to update the driver: http://hp.care/2dIaVyB

Indeed, HP Easy Scan works with my printer HP Phtosmart 7510, and allows m to save on Sierra.
The legacy HP Scan application remains valid to "scan from the printer pane" (this works) but cannot save from the app. HP Easy Scan is a good wiorkaround awaiting a fix for HP Scan.
Thanks

Hi! @HP15CstillWorks, thanks for the response.
Yes, you can use HP easy scan app as a workaround.
Hope you wait for an update from HP for Sierra. You will be communicated once the drivers are released.
Have a great day!:)

Thanks to both Mr. Robot (Chetan) and HP15CstillWorks for your helpful intervention.
I uninstalled the scan software and reinstalled Easy Scan and when I was configuring the network, my Mac suggested there is an updated software available and I clicked 'yes' and it automatically installed the update and now i can both scan and save, so my problem is resolved for now.
To be honest, I just hoped that I wouldn't need to scan the 3 pages again, but there was no other choice and I had to do it anyway. But now I can scan and save multiple pages, so my problem doesn't exist anymore.
Thanks again!
