HP OfficeJet Pro 8025e All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

I used to be able to scan just fine until I kept getting the message that I needed to visit my account or I would not be able to print much longer.  I looked into this and was prompted to start all over by deleting my printer from the pc.  I reinstalled using HP Smart Installer.  Now I cannot scan documents from HP Smart that I place on the glass.  I am guessing I did something wrong when I re-installed and maybe need to start completely over.  Any help would be appreciated.  I run windows 11.  Thank you in advance.  EricScanProblem

Hi @EricSanProblem ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand  you are facing an issue after reinstalling your HP OfficeJet Pro 8025e printer using HP Smart Installer. Let's troubleshoot this together:

  • Check Connection: Ensure that your printer is properly connected to your computer and turned on. If it's a wireless connection, make sure the printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer.
  • Restart Devices: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve connectivity issues. Restart both your printer and your computer.
  • Update Drivers: Visit the HP website to ensure you have the latest drivers and software installed for your printer. Sometimes outdated drivers can cause scanning issues. Software and Drivers for HP OfficeJet Pro 8025e All-in-One Printer
  • HP Smart App: Make sure you're using the latest version of the HP Smart app. Update it if necessary through the Microsoft Store.
  • Permissions: Check if the HP Smart app has the necessary permissions to access your scanner. In Windows 11, you can manage app permissions by going to Settings > Privacy & security > App permissions.
  • Antivirus/Firewall: Your antivirus or firewall settings could be blocking the scanning process. Temporarily disable them and try scanning again to see if the issue persists.
  • Reinstall HP Smart: If none of the above steps work, try uninstalling and reinstalling the HP Smart app. Sometimes, a fresh installation can resolve software glitches.
