Hi,
I'm trying to setup my Win10 PC to send faxes directly from my computer using OfficeJet Pro 6960.
I am able to print, scan and send faxes from the printer but no matter what I try, I'm not able to send faxes directly from the computer.
Tried all solution in the forums such as full reinstall of the drivers, installing HP univeral Fax driver, removing the spoll folder, restart and so on, with no sucess.
Thanks,
B

Thank you for posting your query on HP Support Community,
- Ensure the HP drivers and software are installed.
- Ensure a phone line is attached to the “1-Line” port on the printer.
- Open the document you wish to send using any application.
- Choose the option to print, usually located under “File” > “Print” or
> “Print“.
- Switch the printer to the “Fax – HP Officejet Pro 6960” option.
- Select “Print” or “OK“.
- Enter the phone number you wish to send the document to, then select “Send Fax“.

Hi Jeet_Singh and thanks for taking the time to answer my question.
Unfortuantly I have tried all these options before posting my issue.
The drivers are there (reinstlled multiple time), I see the fax printer from my apps and able to send docs to it, select the fax recepiant and send but then I get an error that Windoes was not able to print to the Fax.
I see the job in the fax status page as spooling and in fax printer queue but with an error status.
As mentioned before, I've read endless posts on this topic and none of the trivial solutions solved my problem.
Thanks,
Boaz.

Thanks for the details,
Let's try these steps here:
Run the Digital Fax setup tool
Run the guided HP Digital Fax Wizard or Digital Fax Archive tool in the HP software to set up Digital Fax.
NOTE:Available options during setup vary by printer model and how it connects to the computer. USB-connected printers can save faxes to a local folder only. Network-connected printers support saving to a folder on the network and fax to email.
Run from Windows
Search Windows for your printer model name and number, and then click the name in the search results. Depending on your printer, HP Printer Assistant or HP Solution Center opens.
-
In Printer Assistant, click the Print, Scan & Fax tab, and then click Digital Fax Setup Wizard.
-
In Solution Center, click Settings > Fax Settings > More Fax Settings > Digital Fax Setup.
Follow the on-screen instructions for the selected setup type. To see if your printer supports additional Digital Fax options, look in the Fax or Setup menus on the printer control panel.

Take care and have a great day ahead!
Thank you 🙂

Hi Boaz,
As both the printer software and the Univeral Fax Driver provides the same results and faxing from the device itself work as expected, it is likely a connectivity issue between your PC and printer and not a software problem, else the other software would likely show a different response.
Is the printer connected with a UBS, wirelessly or through a wired network?
