It appears that HP may have taken a leaf from the Google book because it seems to answer question it wants to answer even if that isn't what I asked. I bought a new OfficeJet 9125e. It seems to be a good Multi-function Printer. I retired from HP so I don't think I've ever used any other printer, meaning this is replacing and HP MFP. Although almost no one seems to use them to receive Faxes via a landline anymore, I do. I cannot find where to properly set that function up or to run the Fax Test I've run on my HP MFPs for years. I'm really not interested in buying a new whiiz-bang HP tool like Mobile Fax. This printer will be sitting on the printer table as many before it. It is attached to a dedicated phone line. I simply need to have it receive faxes and print them out. Any thoughts?

Sadly so many user manuals written assume users are familiar with HP menus and contain no detailed guidance. The best way to configure the fax feature is through the embedded web server. Type if IP address of the printer into the address bar of your browser and then log into the printer using the password printed on a sticker, usually inside the cartridge door. Then go to the fax tab and add your fax number and name.
